This collection is formed by 288 maps not only from the Jičín region but also from the whole Czech Republic, former Czechoslovakia, Europe, Asia and America. There are also some curiosities in the collection e.g. a map of the Jičín's underworld. The atlas Regni Bohemiae Homannis Heridibus Norimbergae from 1776 is the most precious part (unfortunately incomplete) of our maps collection. This atlas contains fifteen freely laid papers and their inventory. All parts of the Bohemia Regni atlas were renewed together with few other maps by Mrs. Kadlíková in 1995. This was possible thanks to the financial help that was gained in the form of a grant from RNDr. Lenka Šoltysová from the National Fund. Unfortunately, we were not able to gain further financial help that would help us with preservation and restoration of maps.
A series of maps connected to the battle by Jičín within the bounds of Prussian-Russian war in 1866 creates another interesting part of the collection. There are detailed maps that picture the plans of monuments from Jičín's battlefield and the progress of some war events in 1866. The advertisements of Jičín's tradesmen are also pictures on a few maps. There are also Vilímek's detailed maps of district headquarters of Lands of the Bohemian Kingdom, detailed Bohemian, Moravian and Silesian maps and further maps picturing the war events from August 1916 to August 1918.
