Gallery nowadays

Although the gallery officially stands in the name of District museum and gallery Jičín we use the gallery area as a room for organizing special expositions of the museum because there is sometimes not enough space for all exhibitions on the first floor of our museum. However, this situation has no effect on organizing purely artistic exhibitions in the gallery. The relationship of representation of only museum exhibitions and artistic exhibitions is nowadays very similar.
The conception of the selection of artistic exhibitions deeply relates with the regional function of our museum – we are trying to catch the work of regional authors and trends. Nowadays we are also trying to exhibit the artists' works that have a national meaning.
